Success

To me, success means to become an expert of the job that I choose, which I do not know yet. It is being an icon or the one who pops into  people's minds when they talk about the topic of the job I am doing. At the same time, the most important thing is that when they think about me, they should have a smile on their faces instead of having a face that says 'omg I hate that person.' People who do well in their jobs and give positive energy to people is a successful person.

Jim Rohn's speech about the success was great. The things that he stated: people need to care about their health, practice everyday, first study and second practice, etc. All of them are the important things that will become the foundation of success. Little things that we might be careless about are actually becoming a big part of life. Little actions and behaviors add up to good habits, which is a big part of a human activity.

The Raven

Recently, in my American Literature class, we have been reading and discussing many poems.Because I am not a person who is “poemic,” rather, I enjoy reading tons of stories instead. I thought I would struggle with this poem section of our course, and I have.Poems are a very difficult subject for me. I hate how authors say what they are trying to say in only a few words. Therefore, I never have any idea what an author is saying whenever I read poems. However, the poem called 'The Raven', by Edgar Allan Poe, changed my preconception.

Unlike other poems, 'The Raven' had a large number of words, which help me to focus on the poem. The way that the author expressed his feeling through his meaningless actions and the repeated answers of the raven came freshly to me. My favorite part of the poem is when the mood of the author changed when he has a "conversation" with the raven. As he keeps asking the questions to the raven, he realizes his inside feelings that he cannot forget his love, Lenore, and his feeling changes to anger. I was amazed how he used raven to show his mood and his inside sadness.
